Severn Valley Social Club

The Severn Valley Social Club for people with a learning disability in the Severn Valley was launched in June 2011. The meetings are held on the first Wednesday in every month in Plas Dolerw in Newtown between 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. Amongst our first guests at the club was local A.M. Russell George. He commented, “I was very impressed – the club provides an important opportunity for people with a learning disability to interact socially. It was extremely heartwarming to see everyone enjoying themselves and taking part in the various activities laid on”.

“It was lovely to be in a room with such a relaxed atmosphere, everyone was enjoying playing games and being creative. It’s these kind of clubs that make so much of a difference to people’s lives”
